The future of Ellice avenue
I think, in terms of an urban area, Ellice Avenue has a lot of potential. University expansion helps, but I think there’s a long way to go with respect to creating a safer, more pedestrian-friendly downtown.

University of Winnipeg Students’ Association general election
I’m going to vote because I have friends running for certain positions. Plus, it is nice to see a change in areas with the candidates running on different platforms. A lot of them are doing new things for the students in our school, so I’ll vote.

Should the federal government dedicate more money to gang prevention?
There are deeper issues to address. Throwing money at the problem isn’t going to solve it.

Shopper’s Drug Mart expansion
I think it’s going to be more packed, that area, so I won’t support it; I would rather it stayed the same. I don’t think people will get benefit with it being big or small as long as it provides the service that people need, and there is a Safeway beside it, so I don’t see any point expanding it.

Osborne Village development
I don’t know why people would close down Movie Village. It’s kind of upsetting because Osborne Village has that feel where there’s different people, you can meet anyone and they have a good story, but now it might attract people who aren’t like that.

Transit fare increase
I think that it is kind of unfair for people who do not have access to the rapid transit system, they should have found the funding before building. It would have avoided all of the unnecessary controversy.

Is the Conservative Party of Canada changing the country’s national character?
Yes, I think that the Conservative government represents a minority of Canadians which goes against the broadly socially progressive and liberal inclination of the Canadian majority.

The state of downtown development in Winnipeg
I feel that the city is trying, but not necessarily in the best ways. It could be happening in a way that is helping local businesses instead of having a corporate takeover.
