Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger was on campus Monday, Nov. 1 to tour the University of Winnipeg’s Science Complex and Richardson College for the Environment, slated to be completed March 31, 2011 and McFeetors Hall: Great-West Life Student Residence.

In November 2006 the provincial government announced a $25-million capital investment to aid in constructing the Science Complex.
Both buildings are constructed to LEED Silver Standards to achieve the highest energy efficiency.

“These are outstanding facilities that are going to provide a couple of generations of educational opportunity for anybody that wants to come study and or live at the University of Winnipeg,” Selinger said.

The tour was hosted by Dr. Lloyd Axworthy, president and vice-chancellor of the University of Winnipeg, and facilitated by Manshield Construction.
