Ahead of their October 30 performance at Winnipeg’s Pyramid Cabaret with Big John Bates and The Revival, local soul and rock outfit The Noble Thiefs completed a country-wide tour in front of raucous crowds and adoring fans. On their return trip to the Peg, the band was kind enough to share their experiences with The Uniter and update our readers on their road experiences. Capping-off their journey is a Halloween-themed celebration on 176 Fort Street. It begins at 10:30pm and costs $12 at the door. We hope you can make it and, if not, enjoy this last entry in The Noble Thiefs tour blog.

Recovered from the Rockies and Ready for Red Deer!
October 11, 2012

Jasper Alberta. What an awesome town! This past Tuesday marked our second show at the Downstream bar in beautiful Jasper. This show was extra special because it was Myron’s 26th birthday. During the day we visited Maligne Canyon, accidentally embarking on an overly ambitious 2 hour hike through waterfalls, mountains and way too many stairs. Before we could properly recover, it was time to hit the stage.

I’ve never seen a town go so crazy on a weeknight! Monday or Tuesday night in Jasper is like a weekend anywhere else. We performed two sets, with Mise en Scene performing in between. We once again received an overwhelming amount of love and support from the people of Jasper. By 11 o’clock the place was packed, and everyone danced and partied into the wee hours. The owner of the local Earl’s opened his doors (and bar) to us after the show, and we stayed out way too late having way too much fun.

The morning came too early, but time waits for no man.

The morning came too early, but time waits for no man. We loaded up and hit the road to Edmonton, spending the afternoon at the water park in West Edmonton Mall (more stairs, awesome!) Then it was time to rest as we have a BIG night ahead of us. Here’s what the next 30 hours look like for us:

1. Drive to Red Deer.
2. Load in to the Slumland theatre in Red Deer.
3. Blow everyone away with our rock ‘n roll.
4. Load out and drive straight to Edmonton’s City TV headquarters to conduct and interview/performance on Breakfast Television—on no sleep.
5. Chill for a couple of hours.
6. Load in to The Artery in Edmonton
7. Blow everone away with our rock ‘n roll.

Three performances, thirty hours, No sleep til Brooklyn. Wish us luck!
