Marine Dreams

These precious little singsongy delights, courtesy of Attack in Black’s Ian Kehoe, continue the cycle that started with 2011’s self-titled debut. Kehoe must have grown up on a steady diet of The Turtles, The Sundays and Sunny Day Real Estate (don’t worry, it’s a good thing), as these songs hint at a non-specific period of nostalgia. The simplistic arrangements cradle his confident yet unsteady vocals throughout the ten tunes, with such standouts as the title track and the Destroyer-esque “Scared of Burning Up.” It’s comedown music, breakdown music and wake up next to the one you love music - really, the best kind of warm blanket audio you can get.
