14th Annual 50 to 500 Members Exhibition + Sale

Reception for 50 to 500 is Friday, November 2 from 8-11pm.
Running dates are November 2 to December 1, 2018.
US is a non-profit arts organization that is dedicated to the Aboriginal arts community and the arts community at large. Through it’s programming, US promotes discourse about contemporary Aboriginal art on local, national, and international levels. Through this discussion, it brings together Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities, knowing that contemporary art is an important and empowering tool for Indigenous peoples. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of artists by providing a vehicle for artistic expression in all disciplines and at all levels by taking a leadership role in the cultivation of Indigenous art.
IF YOU ARE AN ARTIST INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING….
Urban Shaman much awaited call for our 14th Annual 50 to 500 Members Exhibition + Sale. Exhibition takes place from November 2 to December 1, 2018. This is an opportunity for the members to showcase their work and make some extra cash for the holidays. In order to sell your artwork, Urban requests that participants are a member in good standing. If you are not already a member or your membership has lapsed, it is $25.00 for the regular membership, $20.00 for low-income membership. Memberships maybe purchased via Paypal or come into the gallery during our office hours (in person payments must either be cheque or cash). Artwork may be priced 50 cents to 500 dollars and 100% of the profit goes back to the artist (A choice of donation to the gallery upon sale can be made when filling out form when dropping off. Please advise Liz if your work needs special requirements. Also keep in mind what we have seen in the past- work which is framed or ready for fast install are favoured by the public...this is not a requirement, but for sales of work, we encourage framed work. Artists are not required to have to sell their work, this can be an opportunity to showcase what you have been up too (This is a fun event, so no pressures. We would contact you if someone is really interested). Work MUST have somewhere or secured on the artwork: artist’s name, title of work and contact info (phone number or email). IF YOU JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN, SEE AND BUY ARTWORK…
The event consists of an opening reception Friday, November 2th from 8 to 11pm to celebrate an evening with amazing art from Manitoban artists, as well as artists from across Canada and Internationally. This event is great for stimulating conversation, getting to know artists in our community of Winnipeg and beyond. Enjoy refreshments and delish Indigenous food. Non-participating artists coming to the reception a donation of $10.00 at the door the night of reception is welcomed (during the exhibition dates it is free for friends and family to come on their own). This is a great event to find amazing artwork, discover local artists, and support the gallery and artists this holiday season.
