About the show:
"Archetypes" is based on the primeval images which express the collective unconsciousness of individuals in all cultures and historical times. According to Carl Jung, these universal images and motifs are expressed in dreams, religious beliefs, myths and fairy tales. Although Jung's concepts are unusual, in this show they provide the basis for a series of portrait collages. Specific archetypes, such as the Shadow, the Great Mother and the Trickster are interpreted in these deeply personal images.
About the Artist:
Laurie Harper-Winning is a student of photography and the arts. Her works are mostly enhanced photographs with forays into mixed media. This is her fifth solo show.
