Young Galaxy

Vancouver’s Young Galaxy made the Polaris Music Prize Short List for its (incredible) fourth record Ultramarine. Now, the five-piece has dropped a deluxe edition of the dream pop masterpiece filled with b-sides, rarities and remixes from psych pop duo Peaking Lights, Montreal’s Doldrums and the prolific Swedish producer Dan Lissvik. If the original 10 tracks weren’t enough to satiate your craving for refined, new wave guitars and polished synths and keys, the second disc will surely feed it. From the brilliantly infectious hook of “Talk to Her” to the staccato-laden “Sea Drug” which neatly extrapolates Ultramarine’s naval conscience, this is a two-disc collection that’s worth every dollar – and a whole lot of adoration.
