The homeless in public spaces

  • Brohdi Goers, First year education student

It’s better than them freezing. Maybe we should find some way of helping them find shelter that isn’t those areas.

  • Wilfred Johnson, Postal worker

It can be a bit uncomfortable especially if they have been drinking. But it would be cold-hearted for me to say they should be out in the cold. I notice that they cause aggravation to security guards; I don’t know that that should be their main duty.

  • Donna Cawker, mature student

I have no problem with homeless people using anything to keep warm. But I think the city should be doing more. We need a lot more public housing and still we see very expensive condos going up every year.

  • Lourdes Binuya, nurse

They don’t have any other option. The government should give them spaces to go.

  • Megan Pomarenski, first year athletic therapy student

It’s OK depending on the situation. As long as they’re not interfering with people passing by.

  • Dhiraj Narula, project manager

They need to live. A lot of people I see rely on government. At least give them a roof; but they should get these guys some work.
