Jess Reimer Shows Her Roots

Local roots and bluegrass musician Jess Reimer steps out and away from the Doug and Jess Band, and exposes her roots.

The father daughter team of Jess and Doug Reimer, along with Jeremy Hamm and Tim Osmond released one disk Slave to This World where they found a name for themselves as a local bluegrass act anchored by Doug’s high and lonesome voice contrasting nicely with Jess’s strong alto. But now Jess Reimer is stepping out from behind her bass and taking centre stage.

In her first solo release, Sweet Darling in Sorrow Jess has made a great root and bluegrass album with the help of guests including, Nathan’s Keri Latimer, Corb Lund’s Grant Siemens (who also produced the record), Dwayne Dueck, Linda Hiebert, Gil Dudgeon, and of course Jeremy Hamm and Doug Reimer.

Jess’s CD release is tomorrow October 23 at the Park Theatre - doors open at 7:15, show starts at 8:00.
