17th Annual 50 to 500 Members Exhibition + Sale is an opportunity for members to demonstrate what the arts community can offer to our wide-ranging audience through our special virtual gallery online from November 12 to December 20, 2021. It is Urban Shaman Gallery’s 25th anniversary and members will virtually display their artwork priced from 50 cents to 500 dollars, like the title of the event suggests. The purchase of these affordable, amazing pieces supports a diversity of artists: 100% of the profit goes back to the artist.
This year the exhibition will be held virtually. The show will be promoted on our newly designed website and through our social media sources. This amazing event is also a fundraiser for the gallery! We are hoping that purchasers will also become members of the gallery to support our fundraising initiatives. Your donation not only gives you access to view the virtual gallery, and purchase of exciting artworks, but it also contributes to the capital campaign for our new gallery space! Coming in May 2024.

Membership is so much more than the important support it provides the gallery. Members are introduced to community of Indigenous artists and programming via newsletters and in-gallery resources. Members have access to Urban Shaman’s fantastic library and media resources by appointment. The community found at Urban Shaman is safe, open, empathetic and accepting of all members. Urban Shaman Gallery strives to support members in any way we can - be it with grant or bio writing, access to computers or other resources.
Urban Shaman is the only Indigenous focused, artist run, non-profit gallery in the Manitoba. The cost of membership goes directly not just to an art gallery but to a vital and important community of Indigenous artists.
