Thanks for highlighting the important work that CEEDAY is doing in partnership with a community in Burundi. I appreciate the coverage, although I’m disappointed that The Uniter didn’t mention either of the two Burundian Winnipeggers (both under 30) who have played more significant roles than I have in starting this project.
Jackson Nahayo is the director of CEEDAY. He initiated the project and invited me and Erick Nduwimana to join him in getting it off the ground.
Both Jackson and Erick were born in Burundi, survived the war, and came to Winnipeg with a desire to help the people of Burundi rebuild. I’m grateful to be able to work with both of them.
