Public - …And In The End, Release

After the first two songs of Public’s EP, ...And In The End, Release, I thought I was listening to tracks that didn’t make the cut for a Strokes album. That’s because the best tracks are thrust to the beginning of the EP. Walk Away and Get Back are catchy, upbeat rock ‘n’ roll from beginning to end. Unfortunately, the rest is reminiscent of the band playing in the background as I make a jolly ol’ ass of myself at the pub on dollar draft night. Once the first two tracks have come and gone, the remaining songs serve as unoriginal filler – with either poor production, or Chris Stopa standing too close to the microphone (like on Traffic). Not that I dislike dollar draft; I just wouldn’t buy the merch from the band there.
