Top Tour Quotes

Jodi: “Let’s play a game called ‘who annoys you the most and in what order’...after I grab some sugar.”

Stef: “You must ask yourself in times of confusion if the individual you are speaking with has learned how to love, for there is no common ground with someone who has not figured out life’s most important secret.”

Let’s play a game called ‘who annoys you the most and in what order’...after I grab some sugar.

On the Road

Victoria

Victoria is a beautiful place, a place I could live. We had beautiful weather, scenery and the best seafood. We had a set back on our journey over when we missed the ferry, leaving us with a two hour wait… good thing we had a case of pilsner in the van and a deck of cards. Needless to say, the two hours went by quickly. We were all very enamored by the huge boat and even more so when the captain announced that we would be seeing a huge pod of like thirty whales. HOLY!! We went to a great place for fish tacos called “Red Fish Blue Fish.” We waited in line for twenty minutes but it was worth it; recommended for those who venture out to the island. We played two shows in Vic, but the second one stands out the most in my memory. We played in some sort of vegan studio hippy house. Great people, BYOB, and free bong hits. I draw the line when a guy dressed up like a hobbit asks if I want a sip of his ‘juice.’ No thanks man, I support the D.A.R.E. campaign. I did however enjoy some tequila that two nice girls were drinking. That really coated the vocal chords. It felt good; it felt like rock n’ roll.

Vancouver

Best Sound Guy Award: Trouble (his actual name), a toothless 5’2’’ Santa Claus looking man with a heart of gold. I have never seen a sound guy help a band load in and load out at the end of the night… and on THANKSGIVING!!! Holy cow! Vancouver is heaven, or maybe they are all just high on the scenery and the great weed they grow. Once again we got to see a lot of Winnipeg friends at our show. It was so nice to see so many familiar faces. We saw our friends the Bokononists at a Thanksgiving party very close to the venue. They were chopping up some potatoes and making a salad for the party before heading down to the show. I (Jodi) have been working on my water drinking and have trained myself to match every gin I take at the bar with a glass of water… thank you Tim, I’m feeling better already! I parted from the group for a night and went clubbin’ on a day off in the city with some pals… that was an experience. We had the best time in Vancouver.

Stay tuned to the Uniter for more from Mise en Scene as they travel across the country in search of new adventures, great music, and memorable people.
