DANCE MOVIE

Living somewhere between the beautiful warble of Christine Fellows and the drastic vulnerability of Karen O, Tara Thorne’s voice is as real and perfect as anything indie pop has heard in the last decade. From the opening hums of A Quick Drink and a Slow Dance to the glock rockin’ beats of Yeah You Are, Interlopers is a solid disc. A great songwriter, Thorne’s poetry is expertly on display on such Amelia Curran-produced tracks as A Million More Years and Snow Heart. Also helping out on the production side of things are Jenn Grant (the dreamy brilliance of Parks and Resignation) and Matt Charlton (the experimental Blood Ablaze), and the guidance of the trio is noted yet cohesive in an end product. A lovely surprise from a voice to follow for years to come.
