Giant Book & Bake Sale

Would you rather have unlimited books or all-you-can-eat cupcakes? Or would you rather never have to make that impossible choice?

Every year the Daniel McIntyre St Matthews Community Association building fills up with thousands of excellent condition previously-loved books, AND homemade baking as far as the eye can see. It's all pay-what-you-want, with proceeds going to the Manitoba Library Association's Prison Libraries Committee and the Bar None Prison Rideshare Project, two volunteer-run groups that offer programs and support to incarcerated Manitobans and their families.

Our book & bake sale is held in partnership with the DMSMCA's annual rummage sale, so you can also take a stroll around back and hunt for treasure when you're done stocking up on books. Who can think of a better way to spend a Saturday? We're here from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm.

Our sale is open to everyone, and there are no prices on anything -- it's literally pay whatever you want. But we do reserve the right to limit quantities. If you're a bookseller looking to pick up books for resale, there will be an opportunity to purchase books at a by-the-box rate beginning at 1:00 pm.

The DMSMCA building is wheelchair accessible, and there is on-street parking available nearby.
