This exhibition is about growth, change and outside influences. What happens through experience, incident or accident appears in our art. Through collaboration, we have brought together our ideas which we leave as a mystery for you to comprehend. How does our art inspire or influence you?

Jordan Leigh Miller, a Winnipeg artist and arts professional, graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours from the University of Manitoba in 2002 and a diploma in Arts and Cultural Management from the University of Winnipeg in 2008. Memberships include Creative Manitoba and Mentoring Art for Women’s Art (MAWA). Jordan has exhibited in group and solo shows in Winnipeg, Carman, Altona and Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.

Jordan works as an arts consultant, artist and is the executive director and co-founder of cre8ery gallery & studio (inc.) Jordan paints in an abstract style with acrylics and dabbles in mixed media. Currently, she is working on her next exhibition for Portage District Art Centre (2019).

In 2011, Jordan was the recipient of the 35th Annual Woman of Distinction Award (arts). In 2015, Jordan was one of three finalists for the Future Leaders Of Manitoba Award.

Dave Swiecicki is an artist, musician, photographer and video artist living and working in Winnipeg. Even while immersed in music for more than a decade as keyboardist and guitar player for Winnipeg hard rock outfit Jet Set Satellite, Dave Swiecicki’s sense of composition, atmosphere and texture conjured rich, cinematic visuals possessing both resonant subtlety and moving drama. The camera is his main instrument of choice although he explores in paint, image transfers and mixed media.

Dave’s unbridled passion to be creative has driven him to spend endless hours in the studio creating an impressive portfolio with a breathtaking visual aesthetic inspired by everything from the films of Stanley Kubrick to the print design of Saul Bass.

As a special note: Throughout our exhibition, funds raised from our video / art performance project and art purchases, money will be used to support Jordan’s ongoing medical needs in supporting type one diabetes. Its her dream to one day have an insulin pump and wear a CGM for tighter diabetes control. She currently wears a FreeStyle Libre Glucose Monitoring system which is drastically changing her life and how she feels day to day. This system is not covered by Manitoba Health.
