PARTICIPATORY PUBLIC ART FOR PEACE presented by the Manitoba Bangla Learning Centre for Peace Days

  • Date: Saturday, September 22, 2018 – Saturday, September 22, 2018
  • Time: 11:30am
  • Venue: The Forks, 1 Forks Market Road
  • Admission: FREE open to public

Resurgence of ultra-nationalism, racism and anti-immigrant ultra-rights activism at present time poses threat to world peace and stability. The event will encourage people in outing at the Forks market and surrounding areas to draw their emotions on a large painting canvas. The mural drawn in a participatory community engagement fashion is expected to bring people of diverse identities together, and bridge the gaps between them caused by stereotypical and prejudiced learning conditions. The participatory peace art will help spread the message of peace to larger communities through demonstrative means.
