MEDITATION FOR PEACE—A 2018 Peace Days event

The Meditation for Peace event will guide participants through a moment of meditation and unity dedicated to the promotion of peace and the creation of a non-violent society.

Hosted by Archbishop Albert Legatt, the event will include a greeting from Indigenous Elder, Stan Fontaine.

Traditional gong player Todd Koga will lead the participants into a 15-minute period of silent meditation, followed by a Mixing of the Waters of Peace ceremony.

The President of the Manitoba MultiFaith Council, Belle Jarniewski, will invite representatives of various faith communities to take part in the water ceremony, symbolizing the essential nature of all faiths and cultures and our desire to work together for peace.

Event will be held at Ruins of Saint-Boniface Cathedral (190 de la Cathédrale). In case of rain, the event will be held in the Cathedral reception hall.
