2018 Torch of Dignity Relay

Manitobans for Human Rights has started planning this year’s Torch of Dignity Relay for September 23, 2018 and we see the opportunity to make the event bigger by signing up 100 organizations to celebrate Manitoba’s diversity. The Torch of Dignity relay represents all peoples uniting to show our commitment to promote human rights, diversity, acceptance, inclusion, equality and fairness for all, whilst showing our pride and love for our great Province. 

This year’s opening ceremonies will start at 9:00 am at 460 Bedson Park and will end at Scotiabank Stage, emceed by local personalities at The Forks, Scotia stage. Paralympian Colin Mathieson is this year’s keynote along with local dignitaries, relay participants and the public will greet the torch of dignity at the mainstage to kick-off a free family day from 11:00 am till 4:00 pm. Partnering organizations will be setting up tables to promote resources, local mascots and  children’s activities are planned and free to all people. We will also be featuring the Staggering Haggards, Mother Groove and Joalby to entertain for the afternoon along with the children’s activities and mascots it is sure to be an exciting rewarding day.
