Pioneer Heritage Day

The Historical Museum of St. James-Assiniboia is holding its annual Pioneer Heritage Day on Saturday, July 14th 2018 on the Museum site at 3180 Portage Avenue. The afternoon will feature our unique and popular “historical theatre” performances in the William Brown 1856 Red River Frame House, musical entertainment in the 1911 Municipal Hall, along with exhibits of early prairie life in the Interpretive Center. The event will include local music and dance entertainment on the Museum grounds, workshops and demonstrations showcasing artisan talent, settler themed children’s games, and a silent auction.

The Museum’s Pioneer Heritage Day is a FREE citywide event that highlights the Museum as well as the culturally diverse community of St. James-Assiniboia.  The event will provide stimulating and engaging pioneer activities from the 1890’s for all ages.
