Wanted: Chief elections commissioner

Posted by Courtney Schwegel

The UWSA by-elections are being postponed as the position of chief elections commissioner (CEC) has not yet been filled. As a result, the by-election voting will take place a week later – from November 23-26.

The UWSA Board of Directorsthought that the chair of the board, Matt Schaubroeck, would fill the position by default, but upon closer examination of the bylaws they found that the CEC could not be employed by the UWSA. Thus, the search continues…

Vice-president student services Kelly Ross said that a number of students have expressed interest in the position as of late and she is confident that the position will be filled quickly.

So, let’s keep our fingers crossed for a CEC because a whopping 10 director positions need to be filled – the Board is looking a little sparse.
